Mariia Rozhkova

Research. Explain. Apply.

My professional work combines legal assistance, research and teaching. Each requires careful use of sources, attention to the consequences of wording and the ability to explain complex matters clearly.

I hold a PhD in Law and teach as an Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. My teaching includes the language of international documents and professional English.

Language shapes an agreement

A document should preserve a shared understanding of who acts, under which conditions, to what extent and with what consequences. Working with Ukrainian and English versions requires close attention to terminology, structure and cross-references.

This way of reading documents also informs my legal practice: understand the parties’ intentions, then examine how the text expresses them. Where foreign law is involved, the need for a qualified adviser in that jurisdiction is considered separately.

Information you can verify

The university profile provides information on my education, academic qualification and teaching. My dissertation addresses the administrative and legal principles governing preschool education institutions in Ukraine; its record is available in the public register.

Research and teaching publications are collected in a separate bibliography. A work submitted for publication retains that status and is distinguished from a published work.
